Prompt #2

#1. Malcom Little was raised in an environment that exemplified itself to be treacherous and uneconomically fair. His education was not highly valued as academically did not farewell as he only achieved eight grade level of schooling. Malcom was incarcerated only having access to books in the prison library. He began to teach himself how to read and write by tenaciously copying a dictionary. His entire world view about the importance of education and understanding history in time was increased dramatically. His "homemade" education didn't recieve any form of cultivation from the views of a more academic society; the information granted by the literature he read gave him a limited view that correlated to his own experiences. Bill Gates would serve as a prime example of someone who had "homemade" education. Gates develop Microsoft and the software used in almost every computer in the world. Gates found his interest in programming while in grade school causing him to later create Microsoft.

#2. Malcom Little elucidate how in his readings would get lost for extensive amounts of time. He comes to understand that with more knowledge he has absolutly no boundaries on life. The ability of a free open mind to explore the unknown corners of our world can create one's own paradise. Malcom's  paradise was actually learning everything books had to offer and not just memorizing the text.

#3. If I was locked in a prison cell I would pursue science.  I'm tremendously passionate about the field of science, particularly biology; which is the study of life.  To come to a better understanding of how life truly operates would prove valuable. There are so many questions that are left unanswered it would be my personal paradise to discover the solutions. I would need to study the works of previous professors in my field as becoming familiar of how to properly write a lab report is essential to my future success.

  1. dude to me i feel like you gave alot of facts but real personal opionion for me to agree or disagree with. im not the teacher, but as a reader, i would like to see more of what you thought about malcolm X beside just giving back the facts. i too read malcolm X for homework, and honestly i dont really want to recap with unending facts about his real name or what not. by doing that it seems to me like your trying to prove to the teacher that you read the article instead of showing me and others that read your stuff, what you as a writter personally thought or how the reading effected you. but then again dude idk. i probably did my crap all wrong and might get an F lol

  2. I kind of agree with the first guy. It's great that you read everything, but what is your opinion on the readings or on what Malcom X did while in jail? You know what I'm getting at? Just a little constructive criticism is all. =)

  3. I actually like how you went about giving your examples of homemade. However, I dont necessarily understand how Bill Gates knowlege is homemade. For him, the Microsoft program would be homemade, but I don't really know about his education. Also I feel as though maybe you used to many big words, sorry for lack of a better term. But, the explanition of homemade turned into a history and a vocabulary lesson rather than giving us your true feeling on the question at hand. But, overall I think you did a good job of getting your point across.

  4. I also agree with bryce on the first question. Facts are great but im more interested in what YOU think and your opinion on the matter. The example given about Bill Gates gave me a better understanding of the word "homemade." Despite those facts, I think you did a good job answering the question.

  5. ahh! i feel like nick got picked on! yes, it was more fact than analysis, but i really like the bill gates analogy. he sort of had to educate himself because no one before him had really done what he did as far as developing microsoft. you know, if someone wanted to create a "macrosoft" then they could learn from bill gates, but he had to really learn and stretch himself in order to bring his company to fruition.

commenters, your blogger may not always do what you would do or say what you would say, just try to take one idea and keep advancing it, providing more examples, or considering other viewpoints. great job guys!
